Google Health adds two-way Apple Health syncing on iPhone
Cech Tech Reviews

Google just closed the loop on Apple Health integration. According to the update rolling out today, the Google Health iOS app now supports two-way syncing with Apple's HealthKit, meaning your Fitbit data finally flows back into the Apple Health ecosystem instead of just pulling from it.
When Google Health launched in May with the budget-friendly Fitbit Air trackers, it could read your iPhone and Apple Watch data but couldn't write anything back. That made it a data dead-end if you use multiple health apps or devices. Now it works the way you'd expect: wear a Fitbit Air during a run, and that workout shows up in Apple Health alongside everything else.
This is bigger than it sounds. Health data siloes are one of the most frustrating parts of wearables. You pick a tracker for one feature, lose access to that data in another app, and end up with fragmented records. Two-way sync means you can actually mix devices without losing your history, which matters if you're tracking trends over months or sharing data with a healthcare provider.
It's also a small win for interoperability in a world where tech giants usually prefer lock-in. Google didn't have to do this. Apple certainly doesn't make it easy. But they did, and it makes the whole health tracking experience less annoying.
What this means for you: If you're using AI to analyze your health patterns or generate personalized wellness plans, complete data matters. Fragmented records lead to fragmented insights. With two-way sync, you can now pull a unified dataset into tools like ChatGPT or Claude.
Try this: Export a month of unified health data from Apple Health, then prompt your AI assistant with: "Analyze my sleep, activity, and heart rate data for patterns. Identify my three best and three worst health days, and suggest one specific change to my routine based on what you see." You'll get insights no single app dashboard will give you.
